Prudential Laos named Lao Employee Experience of the Year - Life Insurance by The Asian Experience Awards 2021

Vientiane, November 23rd, 2021

Prudential Life Assurance Lao Company Limited (“Prudential Laos”) has been named “Laos Employee Experience of the Year - Life Insurance” by The Asian Experience Awards 2021.

The company was recognised for its learning and development initiatives for its employees which supported a working culture of collaboration, openness, empowerment, innovation, learning, and respect. This includes flexible work arrangements which helps increase productivity as employees are allowed to work in their own comfortable space.

Veejay Madhavan, Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Laos said, “We are delighted and proud to receive this recognition. Our people are core to the success of Prudential. With the introduction of new ways of working and flexible work arrangements, we are enabling our employees to develop new skills, think more creatively and deliver value at speed to the Lao community while maintaining their mental and physical wellbeing.”

The Award also recognized Prudential’s Founder Mentality Program which was launched in December 2020. The main goal is to empower employees into thinking like a business owner – focusing on putting customers first, learning how to “fail fast and move fast” whilst being empowered to drive innovation and creativity.

These initiatives were rolled out to introduce a new style of working which advocates the value of “connect, grow, and succeed” to support employees especially during the pandemic.

Some of the initiatives implemented include flexible working hours and work at home arrangements, mobility to work in different departments to gain different skills and experiences, and secondment opportunities to other businesses within the Prudential Group. Wellness programs such as yoga and aerobic classes are also offered to provide a more balanced work-life lifestyle.

The judging panel of the Asian Experience Awards 2021 said: “These initiatives have shown that Prudential Laos is committed to nurture its people. With the development plans laid out, employees can deliver to the community at their best.”
