Prudential Laos Handover Televisions to 10 Schools to promote Financial Literacy Program

Prudential Life Assurance Lao Company Limited (“Prudential Laos”) has donated Televisions to 10 schools to help promote financial literacy through Cha-Ching Program. The televisions were received by Mrs. Lienkham Vilaphan, Director of Vientiane Capital Lao Women Union, Deputy Director of the Vientiane Capital Commission for Advancement of Women, Mothers-Children.

 

The given televisions will be provided to school libraries along with Cha-Ching corners built in schools where the kids can watch an animated program in Lao voice-over, especially made for kids to help them the concept of money management in their young minds.

 

Veejay Madhavan, Chief Executive Officer Prudential Laos said “We believe in the importance of financial literacy in early childhood learning. Through this, the young generation will develop one of the key life skill that will help them make a better financial decisions..”

 

Mrs. Lienkham Vilaphan added “One of our key focuse is to build up capability among our young generation. Teaching them financial literacy at early age can help them to grow up with the ability to understand more about money management. These televisions will be used to show our students the Cha-Ching Program in a way kids will enjoy during their extra activity.”

 

The televisions will be delivered to schools through Childfund Laos in Vientiane Capital, Houphan, and Xiengkhouang province in August 2021.

About Cha-ChingTM Money Smart Kids

 

Cha-Ching is a flagship programme of Prudence Foundation, the community investment arm of Prudential in Asia and Africa. Created in partnership with the Cartoon Network, the leading children’s channel in Asia Pacific, and with  Dr. Alice Wilder, an expert in educational and child psychology, Cha-Ching takes an engaging and age-appropriate musical narrative approach to teach children about four key fundamental money management concepts – Earn, Save, Spend and Donate.

Other elements of the programme include a website (www.cha-ching.com) with activities and resources for kids, parents and teachers.

 

The Cha-Ching Curriculum provides structured lesson plans for teachers. Launched in 2016 and endorsed by Departments of Education in Asia and Africa, the Curriculum has been taught to over 600,000 students to date, with over 15,000 teachers trained.
